If you haven’t already noticed, I abandoned this website long ago. I had to abandon it because I have found it too hard to maintain it as a one-man show. I’m still learning Vietnamese, and I encourage you to do the same. The Vietnamese Wikibook is a collaboratively-written textbook on the language that I started, and the Vietnamese Wikipedia is a great place to start practicing the language.
This website showed a lot of promise when I began it a few years ago, and it’s sad to let go of it this way, but it’s time to move on. Using Wikibooks and Wikipedia, you really can learn with me – and with everyone else.

Vietnamese New Year
Tomorrow is the beginning of the Year of the Ram, and the Vietnamese New Year, which officially lasts three days. I’m going to take you on a tour of the wonderful customs and culture surrounding this extremely joyous occasion.
The Alphabet
I’ve created yet another article for this site, and this one is also about pronunciation. I’ve attempted to explain how to precisely and easily pronounce certain vowels and consonants in the Vietnamese alphabet. Read on for the article.
Tones and Tone Marks
A lot of people have complained that I haven’t updated my Vietnamese pages in a long time. They’re right. As I’ve been bogged down in schoolwork or in my projects, Vietnamese has pretty much taken a back seat. I now intend to update my site with information such as the following, so that you can learn Vietnamese as I do.
Update: I’ve added a helpful diagram of the contour of tones in Vietnamese.
