I’ll be ready to admit: I’m not the expert on Vietnamese; it’s one of my hobbies. So here are some resources that will claim to be experts:
Dictionaries & Glossaries
- Tự Điển tiếng Việt: A simple English–Vietnamese–French–German dictionary. Frames-based.
- Glossary of Computer Science terms: A gopher file on HTTP that includes a very helpful glossary of computer-related terms in Vietnamese. This document uses VIQR notation, and it can also be accessed via gopher.
- Vietnamese–English Education Terms: A glossary of educational terms in Vietnamese. This document uses VIQR notation. This version uses the VISCII standard.

Directories
- Thư Mục Mạng Lưới Của Google: Good luck trying to get this page to display right in your browser, but it contains links to many very useful websites on Vietnamese. There is also an English version of this directory.
Educational Resources & Programs
- Search Results for Post-Secondary, Academic Year LCTL Courses: This is a list by UCLA that lists colleges in the US where you can take a course on Vietnamese.
- Vietnamese Grammar Project: This is the website for the McGill University Department of Linguistics Vietnamese Grammar Project. This website focuses mainly on the theoretical grammar of Vietnamese.
Fonts
- Dr. Berlin’s Foreign Font Archive — Vietnamese: These are several ZIP archives of TrueType fonts. They are encoded according to the VISCII standard.
- Sounds of the World’s Animals: Vietnamese: This interesting website lists Vietnamese animal onomatopoeia, albeit without the accent marks necessary for correct pronunciation. But you can still get the idea, and this resource is very interesting in many languages.
